Spring Weather is Here!

We have already had a few summer-like days, and everyone spent the day outside in parks or in backyards playing with the kids!

We want to remind you of a few important things you need to do before going outside.

Don’t forget your insect repellent! Choose an insect repellent with no more than 10-30% DEET. It should be applied no more than once per day and not on children under 2 months old. Do not apply DEET to your child’s face or hands. They can ingest the DEET if they put their hands in their mouth. It can also irritate the eyes.

Sunscreen is also important! UVA and UVB SPF30 or higher should be used and only for ages 6 months old and up. Apply the sunscreen every 2 hours while in the sun. Remember that hats, long sleeves, and umbrellas add extra protection from the sun and are imperative for those children under 6 months old that cannot use sunscreen.

Get out there and enjoy the beautiful weather!
